First-ever KP women entrepreneurs trade fair begins

The first-ever inter-provincial trade fair of the women entrepreneurs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has begun here in a local hotel on Saturday. The basic objective of the two-day trade fair held under the auspices of Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) is promoting women entrepreneurs and establishment of their business to business links.

Summer Trade Fair, a women exclusive event is dazzling exhibition of creativity of the products manufactured by the women entrepreneurs of the province. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Sitara Ayaz inaugurated the exhibition.

Welfare and Women Development, Sitara Ayaz said that the women of the province are talented and their work has even demand in foreign markets. She said that women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are manufacturing quality products, saying a large number are carrying their entrepreneurships.

She said that provincial government is making efforts for the promotion of the women entrepreneurship and home-based women workers. Sitara Ayaz said that a women chamber had already been established in the province, saying the products of the women entrepreneurs will not only be marketed at national level, but also international level to promote the culture and identity of Pakhtuns in the world. She said that women are playing important role in the national economy, saying the organizing of such exhibitions will promote the culture of healthy competition amongst the women entrepreneurs to prepare better quality products and take them to international market.

The provincial minister said the provincial government will promote and expand the businesses of the women entrepreneurs and home-based women workers.

She urged the women to not only carry entrepreneurship, but also play role in the capacity of mother, sister, wife and daughter to give peaceful environment to the coming generations of Khyber Pakthunkhwa. In her speech, Project Manager, WBDC, Nabeela Farman said that the centre is working for the capacity building of the women entrepreneurship, saying the establishment of such kind of institute was need of the hour.

The centre, she said is working for the promotion of women entrepreneurship to improve the quality of their products and establish a network to enable them for carrying their businesses in any part of the world. She said that women entrepreneurship can play major role in the employment generation, saying women have role in the per capita income of the several developed countries. She said that several women of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been proved successful proprietors of the businesses.
